Meet Mary-Violet and Justice Ashwell, the co-founders behind ‘There Space’, a diversely talented group of supportive and passionate individuals with more talent than you could possibly grasp through a screen.
In partnership with BREACHLIGHT, I had the opportunity to pick up a b-roll camera and film some of the action going on around the studio. I also worked on the soundtrack. What I loved about filming this was the overwhelming sense of purpose and community. Gorgeous Jefe (fka Malick Mcfly) was in the process of making his second run of durags following his masterful project ‘Don’t Touch My Durag’. Other members were coming and going as we were filming, and we didn’t really have a plan other than we just wanted to show off how awesome this place was.
Without Mary-Violet and Justice, this place wouldn’t exist and all these creatives might not have a place to go to do what they love.
