In a small interview with 4TP network, Basedtj said he was a ‘rapper / producer / artist’. He just dropped his first solo EP and I think just calling him an artist couldn’t work any better. He has a multitude of chill tracks with some of this generations most talented vocalists. His most popular track/beat is not even my favorite work of his. Proof that no matter what the numbers are on a song the quality is up for interpretation to the listener. Tj has only recently started developing his solo music and personal sound. Classic chill-trap vibes with some RnB vocals is just a simple description of the music he just put out. There is even a soul singer vibe to the vocals that is very rare in today’s generation of music.
Basedtj has production credits on some of my personal favorite Lil Xelly songs. He has a way of getting artists to use their voice as an instrument and be more melodic, and this is exactly what I want to hear from Xelly. Producers that get artists out of their shell are rare and should be appreciated.
He also Is a Frequent collaborator with Lil Paycheck , who was actually the only feature.
Track One, ‘Without U’, sounds like a classic RnB song. It starts off with Tj singing about getting a bag by his lonesome. Is this blues influence ? Moving on.
The deep 808 cuts and high pitched ambient synths blend perfectly, and Paychecks verse is on its own a work of art. Both of them snapped and I have several comments on social media to verify.
This isn’t the first time Tj has dropped music with vocals (just in case you thought he only made beats). He has a song with Lukrative on the producer credits. Very fye.

Track 2 ‘Don’t Matter’ starts with a beautiful ambient soundscape, and smoothly starts to feature a deep sub 808. Basedtj sings over the lush sounds with a smooth RnB / soul influence.
Track 3, No Hook, has a very mysterious vibe to it, he is addressing the haters and people that are fake in the industry. Go listen to this one asap.
Track 4 ‘Fake It’ has a more upbeat feeling and has a catchy hook. Tj’s flow on this track is incredibly unique and at this point I feel like he is creating his own genre. Piano + trap drums + RnB Vocals = fire.
Track 5 has a hypnotic piano that sounds like it could be reversed? I also think I hear an organ bass, like the pedals maybe? Probably wrong, either way the flow over this beat and melody he uses is flames. The notes he can hit take a lot of talent. I can really see this one doing big numbers. Out the way (outro) is quickly becoming my favorite track.
With all the basejtj type beat’s that have millions of views this guy should be getting checks.

Lately was the only track I heard while making the cover. I knew what to expect and how to interpret it I think. This was a silky smooth listening experience, and I thought it was a great first impression for his sound. RnB vocals, a dreamy bell and piano breakdown, just play he jawn real fast This is track 6 on the EP.
This year I’ve been laying low working on myself and it’s the best decision I’ve made yet
